Peer Leadership

A class designed to serve other students through mentorship, tutoring and community collaboration at our Parkview cluster schools. Students will learn about their individual personalities, cultural diversity, and communication in order to improve their leadership skills. Through interactive lessons in class and mentor work done in the community students will become better leaders.

Interested in Becoming A Peer Leader?

Are you a Parkview student that will be in 11th or 12th grade the following school year? Do you have a desire to serve/help others? Are you a positive role model to your peers? Do you make A’s and B’s or can you show that you have improved in academic performance from 9th to end of 10th grade? Do you have a clean discipline history or can you show that you have improved in behavior? Do you come to school every day? Are you willing to participate in a group interview and individual interview? Are you willing to sign a contract and make a two year commitment (if you are a rising junior)? If you answered "yes" to these questions, you need to apply!

Prerequisites: Students must be participating in the gifted program. 12th grade students only.

The application for the Gifted Quest Internship is a county application that will be available in late January/early February.  If you are interested in this, please speak with Mrs. Buljubasic in Room 12.225 or by email at  anela.buljubasic@gcpsk12.org.

Yearbook

This course provides students with the knowledge and skills required for creating the PHS yearbook. Students are trained in various skill areas such as interviewing, writing, proofreading and editing, design, theme development, photo composition, and DSLR photography. This course places a strong emphasis on cooperative teamwork and adherence to strict deadlines. Students will be expected to attend after-school activities to obtain coverage, and will be given class time to work with their partners on assigned spreads, under the direction of the class editors.
