Financial Aid & Scholarships

The CodeHS Scholarship Program supports graduating high school seniors who are pursuing computer science in college. This $1,000 scholarship is designed to empower the next generation of CS students through financial support, community, and continued programming throughout their first year of college!

Applications close May 20.

CodeHS Scholarship Program

High school seniors who reside in or attend high school in the following areas are eligible to apply:

• DeKalb County: Lithonia (30038, 30058), Pine Lake (30072), Stone Mountain (30083, 30086, 30087, 30088), Stonecrest (30038, 30058)

• Gwinnett County: Centerville (30078), Lilburn (30047, 30048), Loganville (30052), Snellville (30039, 30078), Stone Mountain (30087)

• Rockdale County: Conyers (30012, 30013, 30094), McDonough (30252), Stockbridge (30281)

• Walton County: Loganville (30052)

Walton Electric Trust Scholarship

The Walton Electric Trust student scholarship is open to any graduating high school senior or incoming college freshman with no more than 15 hours of college credit. Winners are selected by overall evaluation; awards are not based on grade point average. Students planning to attend technical, vocational or other non-traditional university education are strongly urged to apply.

Walter Harrison Scholarship

Each year, the Walter Harrison Scholarship program awards $1,000 scholarships to high school seniors and undergraduate students attending any vocational school or two- or four-year accredited college or university in Georgia. Funded by Georgia’s electric cooperatives such as Walton EMC, the scholarships are awarded annually on the basis of academic achievement and financial need. Applicants must be in Walton EMC’s service territory to be eligible.

Walton EMC Engineering Leadership Scholarship

The Walton EMC Engineering Leadership Scholarship provides five $10,000 scholarships to students who study one of the bachelor degree programs within the University of Georgia College of Engineering. The scholarship is open to residents of the counties Walton EMC serves, which include Athens-Clarke, Barrow, DeKalb, Greene, Gwinnett, Morgan, Newton, Oconee, Rockdale and Walton.

The Alpha Iota Delta chapter at Georgia Tech of the Chi Phi fraternity encourages young men who are attending University of Georgia or Georgia Tech to apply for this scholarship. This scholarship is offered to incoming freshmen men at these schools without regard to race, creed, color, religion, or national origin. Membership in the fraternity is NOT required. The scholarship will be payable in two installments--one per semester, for the Fall and Spring semesters upon proof of full-time enrollment each semester at UGA or Georgia Tech.

Dermer Appel Ruder, LLC will be awarding a $1000 scholarship to a student pursuing an undergraduate degree in pre-law studies, or a student entering law school in the Fall 2027 semester. This is to be used exclusively for tuition or other related expenses. Students must be accepted into a program at any U.S. school for Fall 2027 and have a GPA of 3.0 or above. For students who agree to enlist in the Georgia Army National Guard, attend the University of North Georgia, participate in the Corps of Cadets, and commission as officers in the Georgia Army National Guard after graduating with their bachelor's degrees

Pearls of Excellence Scholarship

​Founders Arizona Cleaver Stemons, Pearl Anna Neal, Myrtle Tyler Faithful, Viola Tyler Goings, and Fannie Pettie Watts, known as our Five Pearls, established Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated predicated on 4 major principles: Scholarship, Service, Sisterhood and Finer Womanhood.

Through these principles, members of the Sorority encourage the highest standards of scholarship through scientific, literary, cultural and educational programs; promote service projects on college campuses and in the community; foster sisterhood; and exemplify the ideal of Finer Womanhood.

In support of these ideals, the Sigma Omicron Zeta Chapter developed the Pearls of Excellence Scholarship. A scholarship will be awarded in honor of each of the five founders of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.  The purpose of the Pearls of Excellence Scholarship is to provide support for a deserving university-bound, high-school senior from the Gwinnett County Area, who exemplifies the founding principles of the Sorority: Scholarship, Service, Sisterhood, and Finer Womanhood.

Beyond the Spectrum Scholarship

The Beyond the Spectrum Scholarship supports individuals completing their high school diploma with autism spectrum disorder in the Gwinnett County, Georgia area. Transitioning from school age to adult for individuals on the spectrum in the state of Georgia has proven to be challenging for many families. Beyond the Spectrum applicants will make up a pool of talented students who face daily challenges related to autism and are planning to attend programs or college that assist in skill-building, job-readiness, and other transition-related skills. Sigma Omicron Zeta will award one recipient with a $1000 - $2000 scholarship to support their postsecondary options.

Scholarship | Pearls For Progress

Eligibility Criteria:

• African American males only.
• Must be either a spring 2027 graduating high school senior who has been accepted, full-time, to an accredited 4-year college or university in the U.S. for the fall of 2027 OR currently enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student in good standing at an accredited college or university in the U.S.
• Possess a grade point average of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent on an alternative system).
• Demonstrate financial need.
• Be a U.S. citizen and resident of Georgia from the metro Atlanta area.
